Clear Lake,was probably our worst year,barring the year we blew out the lower end of our motor.We did a lot of running,and found fish on Sat.but as said they were deep and yes 10-15 ft deep,we missed a lot,and hit a few,
lost 9(including one well over 30lbs)we always double shoot everything but in that deep water makes even that tough.We should have pulled out of there,but all of the fish were big,and we couldnt push ourselves to do it.Ended up with 4 lousy fish.
Sunday we did the Clear Lake sit(which I hate)but the fish were coming in......then we couldnt hit em!Picked up a couple though,until the wind came in.We then went to one of our standbys which held NO fish on Sat......the spawn was on,or at least really heating up(Monday would have been epic!!)The C.L. spawn is tricky and unique,its like skeet shooting and you have to force yourself to not chase splashes,we did pick up a few there but not what we should have,we lost three more and have nothing to blame that on! |
